Windows xp bsod on login

Since I know how to recreate all those errors you report, I also know what things can cause them to happen and how to fix them. I may not know all the things but I can easily recreate many of them and they all point to XP system files that really are missing or corrupt. The trouble with some of those Microsoft KB articles is that the instructions usually contain the phrase:.

If you reinstalled up to SP2 and then downloaded and installed SP3 and the possibly hundreds of updates and rebooted and expected things to work just fine, I think that expectation exceeds reality unless you are really lucky.

If you were to fix those couple errors and have problems later, you would probably always be wondering if you should have just started all over again with your clean install. Somehow, with help from Smittychat :- I think you need to just whack that drive and just reinstall from scratch.

I have never reinstalled XP so I don't remember even how to start! Note that eHow says to press the oh key o to get into system recovery back to factory settings, but that is assuming that your system still has a functional recovery partition on it - and it might not have that anymore:.
