Vista dosnt remember passwords
It sounds like they've done the same thing, only didn't disable or hide the "remember password" checkbox. I was so annoyed with this in until I found the reg fix. You don't have to use batch files or plaintext passwords. So is there anyway to save passwords on Home Premium now? I still get the problem with the "Password doesnt save" on every reboot, even after the dozens of patches installed. Search In. Vista Home Premium : Will not save logon credentials for networking.

Just in case it's not clear, what I have is a Vista laptop that I use to access the domain at work. I have the workgroup name the same as the domain name. A possibly related problem, is that when I log on to the laptop local , important Intel drivers load, and Vista asks if it should load them or not. They should all load.
I click the checkbox for "don't ask me this" each time, and it doesn't remember my answer, so I have to answer 4 questions each time Vista boots up.
Then I have to log in each time I want to access a network share or print. And I have to answer a question every time I change a setting. I think this isn't real good for productivity The Home versions of Vista Home Basic, and Home Premium don't have Cached Credentials the feature that remembers your network-share logon info - that feature is reserved for the business versions Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate.
Your second problem isn't related to the first. Are the drivers in question signed? I haven't checked the device driver signing yet, but I see where that goes and will check it out. Should the "don't ask me" check box remember my answer, or does that get ignored because of security settings? Vista Ultimate should be able to cache credentials, shouldn't it?
I bought the Ultimate upgrade for Vista Business over a year ago, but couldn't get it installed because I couldn't download some number into the computer after buying it, and I finally gave up after many phone calls to Microsoft and hours on hold.
I had to consider it a donation to Microsoft. I have 5 bulk licenses for Vista Business as well so I have a MAK license for them all , but Microsoft has them listed as all being used, although they actually haven't been installed on any computers for over a year. I installed it on two computers originally, but neither worked well with Vista and I took it off both. It's on a home network.
I solved the issue, but not the way I wanted to. I totally reinstalled 7 and all is okay this time. I have no idea what caused the problem, or if it was just a strange glitch. It was definitely frustrating to have to input mail passwords every time I opened Outlook, then again when I sent mail. I'll mark this solved, even though we didn't have a chance to come up with a solution. As Seen On. Welcome to Tech Support Guy! Latest posts A.
